Golden Age Project R1 Active MKIII
Bidirectional Active Ribbon Microphone
The R1 Active (MK III) is a phantom powered, active ribbon mic. The internal amplifier circuit allows the mic to be used with any preamplifier, even on low-volume sources where passive ribbons’ need for external gain can be problematic.
As with all ribbon microphones, the R1’s ribbon is coupled to a step-up transformer, which raises the signal level from the transducer. The active circuitry uses a transformerless output.
A -10dB pad and HPF are switchable on the front of the mic body.
