Focusrite began around 1985 when Rupert Neve designed the ISA series of audio modules for AIR Studios, at the request of George Martin. The company continues to manufacture a version of this mic pre today, and has expanded the product line to include a wide variety of interfaces for nearly all platforms: iOS, USB, Firewire, and more.
