Electro-Voice Blue Raven
Cardioid Dynamic Microphone
The EV Raven is a stylish cardioid dynamic instrument and vocal microphone.
The swivel-mount head and compact design make the mic easy to position.
The case design is similar to the Cardinal, a condenser mic from the same EV/Blue series. Though in the case of the Cardinal, the body of the case is made of cherry stained hardwood (The Raven is metal).

…to give good speech intelligibility … there’s a subtle presence hump at around 5kHz and another peak at around 12kHz before the response falls away towards 16kHz…
The Raven was designed by Blue around the time that Telex Communications, parent of Electrovoice, signed a distribution deal with Blue. The original branding on this mic was “EV/Blue Raven.” Since Blue and Telex have parted ways, Electrovoice retained the rights to the Raven, and are updating the branding to reflect this. The new name is simply Raven.
The Electro-Voice Blue Raven is also known as: EV Blue Raven, Blue Raven.
The mic was released in 2005.
