Electro-Voice PL35
Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone
The Electro-Voice PL35 is a compact dynamic designed for rim-mounting on snare and toms. It has a Neodymium magnet for higher output.
The mic’s polar pattern is nominally Supercardioid, with the intention of rejecting off-axis sound from nearby drums and cymbals. Pattern control is relatively stable through 8kHz, but sensitivity at higher frequencies becomes more directional.
The mic’s frequency response is flat from 150 Hz to 2kHz with a 6dB rolloff below and 6dB boost above, centered at 5kHz before tapering off around 10kHz. When close-miking, the proximity effect is strong, with a 12dB boost centered around 150Hz.
The mic ships with stand adapter, DRC-1 Drum Rim Clamp and soft zippered pouch. It is also bundled within the Electro-voice PL-DK7 kit.
The Electro-Voice PL35 is also known as: PL-35.
The mic was released in 2009.
