Cascade Microphones Victor
Bidirectional Ribbon Microphone
The Cascade Victor is a passive ribbon mic following the “long ribbon/short path” architecture described here.
It is very similar internally to the Nady RSM-2; the differences are primarily cosmetic, but Cascade performs additional quality checks such as testing and retensioning the ribbon to ensure proper performance. Also, Cascade’s staff provides damping of mechanical resonances within the microphone body, improving the detail and clarity of the mic as compared to most imported Chinese ribbons.
The ribbon measures approx. 66mm in length, and is constructed of 2.5-micron, corrugated aluminum.
The mic ships in an aluminum flight case, and includes a padded soft pouch. It is available in two color options:
- Black Body/ Silver Anodized Grill ($169)
- Brown Body/ Gold Grill ($189)
