Multi-Pattern Condenser Microphone

The BP4029 is a revised version of Audio-Technica’s AT835ST. Both are ~9-inch stereo shotgun microphones with a pair of electret condenser elements.

Like its predecessor, the BP4029 has two capsules — one line-gradient and one bidirectional. The output from these two is available independently via the XLR5M connector, to be matrixed externally into mid-side stereo.

The mic also has an onboard matrix that can produce two varieties of L/R stereo, “narrow” and “wide.” These three stereo modes are selected via a switch on the microphone.

A second switch enables a high-pass filter (-12dB/octave @ 80Hz).

The mic is RoHS compliant — free of hazardous substances.

It ships with a 2' breakout cable (XLR5F to 2xXLR3M), a stand clamp (p/n AT8405a), a foam windscreen (p/n AT8134), a thread adapter for 3/8''-16 mic stands, and a carrying case (p/n SG2).
