Cardioid Condenser Microphone

The L36B is a premium FET condenser microphone. It has a fixed Cardioid pickup pattern and a transformer-coupled output circuit.

The capsule is Aseyer’s proprietary single-diaphragm, edge-terminated 36mm design, fitted with a 2-micron nickel membrane. This capsule is described as being immune to the effects of humidity and moisture that can cause shorting in alternative capsules.

L36BThe amplifier circuit is a Class A design with an output transformer and low-impedance output (100Ω). No pads or filters are provided.

Given the mic’s high sensitivity (30mV/Pa) and very low self-noise (11 dBA), the mic is well suited to recording quiet acoustic instruments, but might need an external pad for loud sources.
