Description
The Apex180 is a pencil condenser with two interchangeable capsules, providing omni and cardioid pickup patterns. Phantom power is required.
This mic is believed to be manuactured in China by Alctron; it is a rebranded HST-01A.
The self-noise for this mic is very high at 24dBA. Competing vendors claim superior noise performance for their lookalike mics.
The 180 comes with a standard mic clip. A shockmount (Apex IMC-9) is available separately. See also the Apex 185, which is a matched pair of upgraded 180-like mics, with a pad and HPF.
