Alesis
Alesis is widely known for its best-selling drum machines and the groundbreaking ADAT digital multitrack recording systems of the 1990’s.
The company entered the microphone business in 1998, with the acquisition of Aspen Pittman’s “Groove Tubes” line of microphones; Alesis created a spinoff company, GT Electronics, to produce and market microphones and other analog audio products.
The partnership dissolved in April, 2001, when Alesis filed for bankruptcy.
