AKG Acoustics Perception 100
Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The AKG Perception 100 is an entry level, minimal-features version of AKG’s original Perception series. It has a one-inch, center-terminated diaphragm with a fixed cardioid pickup pattern.
The Perception 200 adds a HPF and pad to the basic Perception 100 design; otherwise, the sound of the two mics is likely identical.

The Perception 220, 420, 820, 100, 200 and 400 share the same capsule platform which is is one-inch, center-terminated and true condenser.
The frequency graphs for the Perception 100 and Perception 200 are identical, with flat response from 80Hz to 5000Hz, and a +2dB rise centered at 10kHz. Note that although AKG’s published frequency range starts at 20Hz, the 100’s -3dB point is closer to 50Hz.
We have been told that the Perception 200 uses an output transformer; therefore we believe the Perception 100 did also.
The Perception 100 ships with a mic clip. (The model 200 and 400 include a flight case and elastic shockmount.)
AKG’s Perception microphones were designed in Vienna, and are manufactured in China “under strict quality control” (according to AKG).
