Cardioid Condenser Microphone

The C4500 B-BC is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone intended for multiple applications, including drums and broadcast.

Note that the mic is an end-address design.

The mic is known for its low self-noise of 8dBA, and high SPL capability (145dB, or 165dB with the pad engaged). Further, AKG presents the mic as having very little proximity effect; this allows the microphone to be positioned very near sources without excessive low-frequency buildup.

The capsule is a permanently polarized back-electret design, with a diaphragm diameter of 25mm. The same “capsule platform” is used in the C 3000 B and C 4000 B.

The mic’s output circuit is transformerless.

The AKG C4500BBC ships with a low-profile elastic shockmount (AKG p/n H 85), a foam windscreen (p/n W 4000), and a flightcase.

The AKG Acoustics C 4500 B-BC is also known as: C4500B-BC, C 4500 B-BC.
