Microphone Giveaway Details

This March giveaway was sponsored by CAD Audio.

The prize was a CAD E100SCAD E100S!

The E100S is CAD Audio’s flagship FET condenser microphone. It is a supercardioid condenser, with a large-diaphragm capsule and extremely low-noise electronics.

The capsule uses a polyester-film diaphragm metallized with Nickel. The electronics are a 3rd-generation version of CAD’s exclusive Equitek design. The mic is capable of withstanding 150dB SPL (pad engaged), but due to its low self-noise is equally at home recording quiet acoustic instruments.

The drawing for the winner was held on March 31, 2011.

Hello, congrats on this really cool giveaway! I entered and I would love to win, the only things is I don’t currently live in the USA or Canada, I just have a very good friend (in Canada) there who could receive the prize on my behalf if I happen to win. Is it OK? 😀 Rock on!

Hey folks; you recently e-mailed me about my entry into the contest fo the cad microphone. Y ou had mentioned that I need to link to your page by my website,Twitter or facebook. Face book is the only one of these things I have and I just got it about a week ago. Still I will try to figure out how to do it. As far as a band or any kind of professional musical experence I’m not a professional.I played in some bands about 30 years ago I even went on the road with one. Not playing though It was my older brothers band and I ran the Lights. They did take a liking to some of my songs but I was never like them.My strong point is writing songs. All my life people have told me things like ” you ought to try to sell one of those” or “you should go to nashville”or”why haven’t you tried to do something with those?” Well I just was not into becoming a street person on 16th avenue in Nashville. In the 1980’s I bought a fostex X-15 four track recrding machine. I recorded alot of my songs on that.I enjoyed being able to ride along with one of my friend and put in a cassette and tell them “Hey check this out this is a song I wrote”. Well now I play not just guitar but also banjo, mandolin ,fiddle, bass and harmonica. My fostex broke but I am hoping to purchase a tascam 24 track neo recdorder. I became disabled at my real job and about all I can do now is sit around. So I have been rather than looking at things as though its bad I’m trying to view these life changes as positive. So I’m getting back into writing and recording my songs. But if the contest was for working musicians I’m not there yet. I am an artist however.

I want that mic so bad! I’m an aspiring voice artist who currently has fun doing voice-overs of movies and such. This mic would be perfect for working on a professional demo and getting some high quality recording in general.
